Sample Data Set of Asian Ramen Ratings



Step 1. Open the Excel data into Tableau


Step 2. Drag the “Stars” variable into the Rows section on the shelf.


Step 3. Right-click on the “Sum(Stars)” pill and move to “Measure(Sum)” and then choose “Average”



Step 4. If we want to see Ramen Ratings by different countries, drag the “Country” variable onto the Columns on the shelf.


 

Step 5. If we want to see the relationship between the Variety and the ratings, drag the “Variety” onto “Color” under Marks. You would see a stacked bar chart with different colors.



Step 6. If you want to see actual rating values by each Variety, press Ctrl and drag the “Avg(Stars)” pill to “Label” under Marks. You would be able to see rating values per ramen variety



Step 7. If we want to fit stacked bar charts to the entire canvas, select “Entire View” on the toolbar.



Step 8. If you want to see actual rating values by each Style, press Ctrl and drag the “Avg(Stars)” pill to “Label” under Marks. You would be able to see rating values per ramen style.

 



 

Step 9. Do the necessary Title.



 

 

This is now the final Stacked Bar Chart of Ramen Ratings.
